The west central coast of Florida contains some of the last undeveloped coastline, wild coastal plains and marshes which is why it is often referred to as the 'Nature Coast'. Its unspoiled beauty is a photographer's delight. The Nature Coast area encompasses Levy, Citrus Hernando and Pasco Counties and is inhabited by many native species of flora and fauna that are found only in this area an are nearly extinct.

Citrus County is the winter home of a burgeoning flock of whooping cranes that make the flight each fall from the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge in Wisconsin to the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge. The entire Nature Coast is also the home or a blossoming Sandhill Crane population. The sandhill cranes are very photogenic and seem to enjoy hamming it up for a camera. They can often be seen on the side of the highways in stately repose.

While I enjoy photographing the splendor of Florida's animal and plant life; as a motorcycle enthusiast I also enjoy attending many of the Nature Coast's Bike Events and photographing the many beautiful motorcycles that are in attendance. Some of my photographs have appeared in the Nature Coast's own Bike enthusiast magazine, 'Wanted' and its companion website.

While Florida's native plants and animals are certainly worth a look, it is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and American Indian settlements. There are several trusts and foundations whose whole purpose is to keep this unspoiled area in its native state and for this I am eternally grateful. I am lucky enough to be a resident of a relatively unspoiled small pocket in a wild hammock in the central part of the Nature Coast region many of the photographs you will see here were taken from my own porch or yard.
